Sikh? Big Question.

Here Are Some Quotes From Some Political Wigwigs...

" To preserve the unity of India, if we have to eradicate 2-crore [ 20 millions ] Sikhs, we will do so. (Balram Jhakhar, a colleague of P.V. Narsimharao, the former Indian Prime Minister)

" The Sikhs are a lawless people and a menace to the law abiding Hindus ... The [Government] should take strict measures against them." (Pandit Nehru, Indian Prime Minister, on Sikhs)

"Kya main taqat dushman (the enemy -the Sikhs) ke haath main de dun (How can I entrust power into the hands of the enemies)." (Jawahar Lal Nehru, 1961)

" I hate the very physique of a Sikh because of the turban and beard. " (Vallabh Bhai Patel, late Indian top politician)

"I don't give a damn if the Golden Temple and whole of Amritsar are destroyed, I want Bhindranwale dead." (Indira Gandhi, Indian Prime Minister, communicating with Gen. Vaidya during "Operation Blue Star")

"We have broken the back of the Sikhs and we will get them elsewhere." (M. M. K. Wali, Indian Foreign Secretary, June 7, 1984, Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Radio 740, As It Happens)

"Let us teach these bastards (the Sikhs) a lesson." (Rajiv Gandhi, October 31, 1984)

"... a threat to the villagers that all males would be killed and their women taken to army camps to breed a new race if there was any militant activity in their village." (Brig. R. P. Sinha, Indian Army, March 8, 1991)

"You do not know the might of our armed forces. We will eliminate 10,000 Sikh youths and the world will know nothing about it." (Chander Shekhar, former Prime Minister of India, CK, 21st October, 1991)

All the above quotes has been made by some heavyweights at some point of time right from the time after our independence. Well my sole aim is to quote them as most of us are not knowing these facts. My question basically is HOW IS A RELIGION AND OUR COMMUNITY ( WE SIKHS ) ARE SUPPOSED TO REACT TO ALL THESE QUOTES? AFTERALL WE CANNOT BE SPECTATORS TO ALL THESE THINGS WHEN SOMEONE IS MALIGNING OUR UNDOUBTABLE INTEGRITY TOWARDS OUR MOTHERLAND? This point is open for discussion and me waiting for it to happen? Comments awaited.

Sat sri akal to all of you. I want to comment on certain things. I have seen some of the guys(From all quaters and walks of life, from RSS personels to qualified and well read(I doubt if they are) engineers) repeatdly saying Sikhs as part of Hindus or extended arms of Hindus. Let me make you guys 1 thing clear if Sikhism was to be the arm of Hinduisim, Sri Guru Nanak Devji would never had formed this sacred faith and please stop labelling us as allies of Hindus and Muslims. Ours is a faith which has got its stability by its own. We have fought for our identity from the era of Sri Guru Gobind Singhji to the massacare of 84 and we are surviving thanks to the brave soldiers of the Punjabi Motherland. One more thing I would like to add here is that I read someone sayin Sikhs are more in numbers in the Indian Army than Muslims. Here is a fact: Before independence out of the total number of freedom fighters hanged to death for independence, 80%(without any source but a generally accepted) of them were SIKHS WHY? just because we are allies to Hindus. Answer is Big NO, because we are ones who the bravest of the all in the way that we always take it upon ourselves to save and die for our motherland. and then take Kargil war same situation there again, Sikh regiment was the one who fought on the fought on the forefront borders and took the bullets on their chests rather on the back dying as cowards, Is it because we are somebody's ally? Answer is again Roaring No, Although we account 2% for the total population of India, yet count the martyrs till the date you will get the answer? and nobody should doubt the caliber of sikhs somebody was seen Condemning the Sikh PM( Dr. Manmohan Singh), Read his "Resume". See his Credentials before commenting. Instead of doubting him, He should be labelled as the Saviour of This Nation, otherwise till now we like Pakistan would have been looking towards America for financial aid so that we could eat. None of the Nehru and Gandhian family or for that matter any other politician has for studied that much till now? Whether it is Rajiv Gandhi, Indiara Gandhi, Rahul gandhi and their genious Priyanka Gandhi couldn't even make in to HOME SCIENCE in some college in Delhi!
The whole point of presenting my side of whole issue is not to downplay any other Religion or Community but is to make a point Why it is we at whom the finger(gun) is pointed towards? For many people this would a point to think upon, but for us it's a question of our dignity and holding our head high?

Now the Big Question, If despite all our sacrifices for our motherland, we are labeled as rebels then there is big hole in the system?

Mesmerising Kajol

"She could mesmerize an audience by the sheer force of his presence". I cann't think of anything better to start off. Well for last sometime definitely from the day I saw Fanaa there has hardly been a day when i had not once thought of Kajol. The elegance and at the same time with simplicity n innocence with which she played a role of mother to child Rehaan ... was simply commendable. That image of her taking something of refrigerator and walking in sleepers wearing salwaar suit has been etched in my heart. She had again brought spark back to the salwaar suit. And mind you I am not looking like a 22 year guy only.. it is 6 year, 22 year and 50 year old all rolled into one. That song with child Rehaan(Chandu ke chacha ne) was a true tribute to a mother's spirit. Now what is ransacking my mind is the question that how could one be so real on screen. My conviction could only tell me that one has to be like that in real life to be real on silver screen. Well is that the ideal lady me is aspiring for? Me feeling light now.

Delhi vs Rest

Thought about "Apni Delhi" competing with rest of the metros is crossing my mind for some days.. First Delhi has the headstart from other cities it being a national capital. rest for the time being, comparing the infrastructure Delhi is almost No.1 in the country, if any doubts, that will be laid to rest by the time commonwealth games arrive in 2010. A big chunk of infrastructure is going to be added to Delhi... most of the road's( which already are of high quality) will be relaid on cement base as said by Delhi government. Hotel industry will be the biggest gainer. A lot of new hotel's will come up to accomodate the tourists. The biggest problem that will be solved will be of water, more water treatment plants will come up, helping in solving Delhi's biggest problem. Metro has made the public transport system of Delhi No. 1 in the country. Rest all the cleanup is being done by MCD by cleaning up illegal buildings, only if human rights commision can keep away. Traffic problem is almost solved with the help of flyovers, where it still exists, according to me flyovers are coming there. Big shopping malls are coming up. another problem being faced by all metros (bombay, calcutta , bangalore) is that of congestion, which thankfully will not affect Delhi. As around Delhi -NOIDA, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Ghaziabad- are coming up as habitat for the people working in Delhi. Rest I think the biggest advantage Delhi has over other cities is that it has got a rich culture and heritage to take care of which all other metros devoid off or possess in small quantities. Another major improvement will be seen on the Indra Gandhi Internatinal Airport which will be completely renovated, as it will prove to be a entry pont in INDIA for the foreigners.Prosperity of Delhi is represented in the survey done recently which stated Delhi's per capita income to be more than double of the national average, highest in the country. On the security front also delhi has not been a soft target as our some other distinguished metros. If there are any doubts then that should be laid to rest as the BCCI has given the right to host the Grand Finale of the 2011 cricket world cup to Delhi.
As proved by a recent survey conducted by a national magazine Delhi's people are the politest one( Mumbai being crowned as the rudest one). Though this survey has been tarnished by celebrities residing in Bombay they have voiced their opinion against it and being celebrities their views has been aired by the news channels. Anyway it's the common people who represents the city or state not the celebrities(I think so). I take my hat off to this Delhite's never say die spirit and there effort to rise time and again from the rubble. Whether it was Ahmed shah Abdali or Pakistan's stabbing in the back... Delhi has always rose and shone. It has never been engulfed by the feeling coming out of word "mine". Though we are proud of our acheivements, but we always welcome the guests with opens arms, "aur unhein apne rang mein rang lete haan yaa unke rang mein rang jaate haan." (something mumbaikar's shiv sainiks and tamilians have failed to do). Here students coming from north south east west are never attacked nor will be.
"Wake up Delhi, A bright morning is beckoning you"
With this I will be like to sum up. Will meet you with another posting.

Poetry Beyond Age

Seena Gham Se Bojhal Ho Aur Yaad Kissi Ki Aati Ho
Tab Kamre Mein Band Ho Jana Aur Chhup ke Chhup ke Ro Lena

Jab Aankhein Bheegi Hon Jaayein Aur yaad Mein Meri Bhar Aaayen
Phir Khud Ko Dhoka Mat Dena Aur Chhup ke Chhup ke Ro lena

Jab Palkein Karab Se Mondi Hon Aur sab Samjhein Tum Sote Ho
Tab Moun Par Takiya Rakh Lena Aur Chhup ke chhup ke Ro Lena

Yeh Duniya Zaalim Duniya Hai, Yeh baat Buhat Phelay Gi
Tum Sab Ke Saamne Chup Rehna Aur Chhupke chhupke Ro Lena

Jab Baarish Chehra Dho Daale Aur Ashk Bhi Boondein Lagti Hon
Who Lamha Har giz Mat Khona Aur Chhup ke Chhup ke Ro Lena

best part of this poem is that some lady named Bhawna replied by sayin

padh ke tere shabdo ko, yaadon mein tanhai ghir aayee...
yadon ko sanjotey hue..chupke chupke me ro aayee...

another one from bhawna....

gham-e-zindagi mein saath tera aisa hai
sooni raat mein chaand jaise chamaktaa hai

apni aankhon ko uthaa kar dekh to zaraa ek baar
iss jahan se uss jahan tak, ho jaenge hum paar

madhosh ho kar machal jaataa hun
soch kar tujhko apney khayaaalo mein

rukh pey tere nashaa yun hai,
nahi jo mey {sharaab} ke pyaalon mein

uthaa kar nakaab, ek deedaar phir sey karaa de
bujhti hui shamaa ko ek baar phir se jalaaa de...

another one

chupa kar laye thi jo tere liye..
chup kar jo aaye thi milne tujse...
khuli ankhon mein sanjoye hue..behisaab khoobsurat sapney bhi they...
ankahey shabdon mein liptey hue, mere kuch ehsaaas bhi they...
langh kar pathar ke darwazon ko..
tod kar na janey kitni bediyon ko...
hathon mein apney thaam ke..layee thi tere liye...
dil se apney.. kuch dhadkaney chura laayee thi..
tujhse jo mein pehli dafaa milne aayee thi...

IF SHE' S STILL AROUND, NEVER FORGET TO LOVE HER MORE THAN EVER. AND IF SHE' S NOT, REMEMBER HER UNCONDITIONAL LOVE.

"My Childhood"

Me writin after a long time could not get time to post ... actually gud news for me. Should I break it out? A stranger, now well wisher from Nawanshaher, Punjab has asked me about my phone number as he wants to talk to me.... actually he said i write very well.... That is an acheivement....

Me for some days was thinking about my childhood days when we children with innocent smiles used to play King Queen on our self annointed Trafalgar Square of our thermal colony. Those times when I being a tall guy was a part of the gang of my seniors. They used to treat me as a novice in their group, they talked in code language like when young girl was coming from the temple they used to say that "yaar chalo mandir se mata ka parsad aa raha hai". and when I tried to enquire they used to say ke "tu ruk tere naam ka bhee bhog lagwa denge". I used to smile that they think I am fool but i understand everything.

Then that whole night planning for next day's cricket game against the team of Subordinate's Children team. I will be fighting with Monty bhaiya that give me opening slot as I can get the team to a flier. Then after sometime we revolted against seniors and threw them out of the team for they could not do anything as they were few in number.

Then I developed that image of a sober and sweet boy in the colony among aunties. My mom would tell me that some aunty praised me about my manners. (from my childhood I touch the feet of any elder and I will never shout or abuse in front of elders and I do it conciously). It hold's till now. They wanted that there children should remain in my company. Then that times when my mom would be shouting from the gate at ten in the night that come and have your dinner. Papa used to scold that why only playing, no studies? Cann't forget that night's scolding I got for playing cricket match during my 8th's state board exam finals.

Then that times when my late grandmaa (We with respect used to call him "bebe") used too scold my papa that why is he shouting at me ... "what if babbu has done something wrong... I didn't see his face after so many prayers for this day". Once papa scolded me in the morning, and went to the office and after he left my dadi packed my clothes and left for our village and warned my mother not to call papa till we got the bus. Then like every child those stories of raja rani cann't get out of mind. Then once I got our tractor in a awkward position from a height(on a high sand dume) it's one tyre was hanging in air. I fled leaving the tractor in the hanging condition then my elder uncle( chacha) got hold of me and made me to take tractor out of that condition... he slapped me and told me fact of life that nobody is going too get you out of trouble in life. It is you who has to help yourself.

Then the best thing that has happened to me is my fights with my sister (nimmi). That little fights (she used to beat and slap me) made me mild and mellow. I have never spoken in high volume to any lady till now. I did do some commenting in the college life. But I think I lost my way in the college. Once my father told me one that "There should be atleast one sister, as without her man does not know how to respect the God's another face(Women)." “I cannot think of any need in childhood as strong as the need for a father's protection and mother's love.” Then as a youngster I used to write something till my 12th. I find solace in expressing myself through pen. I dream to be a great writer one day. People should remember me through my pen not sword.

These tokens of love and advice are what define my whole life till now. I can sacrifice everything I have today If somebody can return me my Childhood.

" Koi lauta woh de woh barish ka paani....."

In the end I will like to pay my homage to all the people who lost their invaluable lives in the serial blasts in Mumbai Blasts. With a prayer n my lips that may their souls rest in peace and May Lord help by giving them a place in heaven and from now on making this world a peaceful place that I once dreamt while sleeping with my bebe under the stars. Busy Times

Ohhh today I checked I have not written for last 20 dayz or so... well i have been surprisingly busy with some social gatherings. First it was marriage of my friend Abhishek Vimal's sister. Ahhh... I danced there too my heart's content. Satisfied. Then a One day trip too Amritsar Sahib and wagah border was beautiful one. Well The Golden temple was as beautiful as ever. But the trip too wagah was a energising one . After a long time a wave of country love crossed my heart. Well then a family marriage was there and i was beautiful... but actually i ran out of energy... too keep me going... The time at home was getting difficult to get through. I was alone, No companions. Then these academics are not going to leave me I think so. Now with a eye on time I have rush through my GRE n TOEFL exam's. May God bless me with success . I wish if this urgency could have creeped into me much earlier.
